We have traveled all over Mexico visiting several factories that produce the famous designs of "Talavera tile".We also found a wide variety of quality. Most Talavera Tile is "double fired". The tile body is shaped, fired in a kiln, cooled, painted and fired again.

We used the "double fired" product from several different factories when we first started our little business. We learned about the "single fired" method about 3 years ago. We were traveling in Saltillo, Nuevo Leon, Mexico where we discovered a tile factory called "Pisos de Coloniales". We visited with the owner who explained their method of"single firing"

They form the tile, hand paint it and then fire it in a high temperature gas fired kiln. This process produces a more durable surface, does not have hairline cracks, has more brilliant color and is a freeze resistant product. We were sold! We now buy our Talavera Tile "exclusively" from Azulejos Talavera Cortez S.A. de C.V. for our Talavera Tile Tables. Although this costs about twice what the "double fired" Talavera costs, the quality of the tile is well worth the added cost to provide you with years of enjoyment.

All of our Talavera Tables have forged iron bases. The bases will be powder coated any color. We supply bases in many sizes and styles other than the ones shown. Contact us for a specific size.
